Action needed today on House Resolution 1018 for study of funding of mental health services!

Friends –

Representative Thomas Murt’s House Resolution 1018 authorizes the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee to do a study and make a report on the impact of the 2012-2013 ten percent reduction in funding for community mental health services. The Resolution also forms an advisory committee.  Click here to read the Resolution.

The study in House Resolution 1018 is important. The study will determine the effect of funding reductions on access to community mental health services. The study will inform lawmakers and stakeholders whether there is enough access to services and supports for children and adults with mental illness.

The House Human Services Committee will vote on House Resolution 1018 this Wednesday, September 24 at 10:00 a.m.

Contact the Chair of the House Human Services Committee, Representative Gene DiGirolamo, and the Democratic Chair, Representative Angel Cruz, today to urge them to move House Resolution 1018 out of the Human Services Committee this week. This is needed so that the bill can get full consideration by the House of Representatives this legislative session. The Resolution only needs to be passed by the House of Representatives.
