Disability Rights Pennsylvania (DRP), a leading advocate for the rights and protections of individuals with disabilities in Pennsylvania, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer Garman as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective March 24, 2025. She brings with her a wealth of experience in disability policy, advocacy, leadership, and planning.
Jennifer Garman joined DRP as a staff attorney 17 years ago and for the past 9 years serving as the Director of Government Affairs, where she spearheaded policy initiatives that significantly improved independence and inclusion for people with disabilities. Her leadership has been marked by a commitment to empowering individuals and communities, fostering collaboration, and driving impactful change.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jennifer Garman as our next CEO,” said Shirley Keith Knox, Chair of the DRP Board of Directors. “Her extensive experience and passion for disability rights and her collaborative work with policy makers, the community, and organizations make her the perfect leader to guide our organization into the future. We are confident that under her leadership, DRP will continue to be a powerful voice for individuals with disabilities across Pennsylvania.”
“I am honored to be the next CEO of DRP and to work collaboratively with such a dedicated staff,” said Garman. “I am committed to advancing the mission of DRP and ensuring that individuals with disabilities have the resources, advocacy, and support they need to live free from abuse, neglect, segregation, and discrimination.”
