Help Get House Resolution 1018 Passed!
Friends –
Representative Thomas Murt’s House Resolution 1018 is important for people with mental illness. The Resolution authorizes the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee to do a study and make a report on the impact of the 2012-2013 ten percent reduction in funding for community mental health services. The Resolution also forms an advisory committee. Click here to read the Resolution.
All members of the House of Representatives Human Services Committee voted “yes” on House Resolution 1018. The Resolution now needs to be listed for a vote by the entire House of Representatives. The Resolution only needs to be passed by the House of Representatives, but there are very few days remaining in this legislative session.
Bipartisan support is needed. Today, please reach out to your Republican Representative and ask him or her to co-sponsor House Resolution 1018. Please also ask him or her to help move the Resolution for a vote. Click here to find your Representative.
Please also write Letters to the Editor of your local newspaper in support of Representative Murt’s Resolution 1018. Your Letter can explain why the study is important for you or a family member who has mental illness and needs services. After you submit your Letter to the Editor, please email a copy to Chava Kintisch at ckintisch@drnpa.org so that it can be shared with House Leadership. Click here to read our Letter to the Editor.
