The National Council on Disability Invites You to a Medicaid Forum Hosted by Liberty Resources – Engaging Disability Leadership Representatives

The purpose of this forum:  The National Council on Disability (NCD) is collaborating with federal agency representatives and disability leaders to facilitate cross-disability stakeholder engagement with federal partners to obtain meaningful input into the planning and implementation of Medicaid managed care programs.

MEDICAID MANAGED CARE FORUM OBJECTIVES INCLUDE TO:

  1. Facilitate input on experiences, preferences and desired outcomes for Medicaid managed care among disability leadership, federal and state agency representatives; health plans, providers, and consumers;
  2. Promote the Medicaid managed care principles outlined in the NCD report, Medicaid Managed Care for People with Disabilities http://www.ncd.gov/publications/2013/20130315/;
  3. Summarize and disseminate the forum proceedings and stakeholder input; and
  4. Highlight NCD’s Medicaid Managed Care recommendations to States, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, and Congress – http://www.ncd.gov/publications/2014/11042014/.

Reasonable Accommodations:  An American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter will be available, along with Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART).  Individuals who plan to attend this forum in person and require reasonable accommodations other than an ASL interpreter and CART should notify NCD contractor Capital Health Strategies, Consultant Ellen Piekalkiewicz as soon as possible to allow time to make arrangements at (850) 241-2051 or by email at — ncdforums@gmail.com.
