National Council on Disability to Meet July 12-13, 2023

The National Council on Disability has announced the date and time of their next quarterly meeting. The Council will meet in-person on July 12 and 13 in Washington, DC. The Council will also live stream their meeting over Zoom on Tuesday from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm and on Wednesday from 10:00 am – 12:30 pm. The Council will celebrate the anniversary of Americans with Disabilities Act at 6:00 pm on Monday. There is a separate registration for the ADA celebration on Eventbrite.

The Council meeting will be available over Zoom so any disability advocate can join the meeting using Zoom or the telephone number and passcode associated with Zoom. Registration is not required but encouraged. ASL and CART have been arranged for the meeting.

The Council is an independent agency that advises federal agencies, Congress, and the President on issues impacting people with disabilities.

At this meeting, the Council will host several panels focusing on health disparities for people with disabilities. Speakers will include the Presidents of the American Medical Association and the American Dental Association as well as disability experts in the field.

There is always an opportunity for public comment. The National Council on Disability welcomes public comments from individuals, businesses, providers, educators, parents, and advocates. The Council receives public comments via email or over zoom during the meeting.
