Online Radio Program about Home and Community-Based Waivers this Friday, October 24

PA Independent Living Online Radio Program about Home and Community-Based Waivers this Friday, October 24

Join The Arc of Luzerne County this Friday, October 24, at 12:00 PM for a conversation with Chava Kintisch, Esquire, Director of Civic and Government Affairs for the Disability Rights Network of Pennsylvania.

Click here to go to the online radio program.

This online radio program will be about the new federal regulations for Medicaid home and community-based services now in effect. These regulations require Pennsylvania to ensure that its Medicaid home and community-based waiver services are provided through a person-centered planning process and provided in appropriate, integrated settings.

The discussion will be about what the term home and community-based services means, what person-centered planning is all about, how it impacts people with disabilities, the Department of Human Service’s (formerly Department of Public Welfare) transition plan, and much more.

A recording of the radio program will be posted online afterward. A written transcript of the radio program will also be posted online afterward. Go to the PA Independent Living Online Radio website: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/pa-independent-living.
