Partnership Webinar for Family Members and Self-Advocates: New Federal Rules Boost Rights of People with Disabilities Who Use Waiver Services

Friends –

Professionals:  Please share with the people you support.

Thursday, 5/29/2014
3:30pm – 4:30pm

Self-advocates and family members, join us to learn about the new federal rules that should increase community integration for people with disabilities!

The right of people with disabilities to choose where they live and work recently got a big boost from new requirements issued by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).  These new rules apply to Medicaid Waivers and some other Medicaid services. The rules require that a person-centered planning process be used to develop an individual’s support plan, and also establish requirements on how and where services are delivered.

In the near future the Department of Public Welfare (DPW) will share its plan for how it will comply with the new rules and invite public comment.  Learn about these changes now so that you can give DPW feedback.

In this one hour Partnership webinar, Kelly Whitcraft, Policy Coordinator at the Disability Rights Network of Pennsylvania, will provide an overview of these new federal rules.

Please note:  This is the same webinar that was offered on 5/13.  We received a great response and decided to offer it again.
