Public Comments on Health Plan Under Medicaid Expansion Are Due Monday, April 27
As you may know, the new Governor is fully expanding Medicaid for adults in Pennsylvania! Here is a news article: http://www.politicspa.com/pa-gov-wolf-begins-transition-to-full-medicaid-expansion/63627/.
The transition from the former Governor’s “Healthy Pennsylvania” plan to traditional, full Medicaid expansion is happening over the next several months. Under Medicaid expansion, there will be one Medicaid health plan for adults. There will be no changes to benefits for children under age 21.
Public comments on the Medicaid health plan for adults are due Monday, April 27. Here is information from the Department of Human Services about the Medicaid health plan for adults:
“Interested parties may view the Interim Healthy plan previously referenced in a document on the Department’s web site at http://www.dhs.state.pa.us/cs/groups/webcontent/documents/document/c_144044.pdf.
The Department intends to make key modifications to the Interim Healthy benefit plan to include the following:
- The removal of the inpatient rehabilitation hospital limit of one admission per year.
- The removal of the inpatient psychiatric hospital limit of 30 days per year.
- The removal of the six prescription drug limit per month.
- The removal of outpatient psychiatric and drug and alcohol treatment limits.”
