Update and Action Needed on House Resolution 1018!

Friends –

Update and action needed on House Resolution 1018!

Background information:

Representative Thomas Murt’s House Resolution 1018 authorizes the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee to do a study and make a report on the impact of the 2012-2013 ten percent reduction in funding for community mental health services.  The Resolution also forms an advisory committee.  Click here to read the Resolution.  The study in House Resolution 1018 is important.  The study will determine the effect of funding reductions on access to community mental health services.

Update:

Last week, all members of the House of Representatives Human Services Committee voted “yes” on House Resolution 1018.  The Resolution now needs to be put on the calendar of the House of Representatives so that it can be voted on by the entire House of Representatives.  The Resolution only needs to be passed by the House of Representatives.

There are very few days remaining in this legislative session.  It is vital that lawmakers are educated on the importance of this Resolution.  Click here to read DRN’s memo regarding co-sponsorship.

Bipartisan support is needed for this Resolution.  Please focus your advocacy on reaching out to Republicans and asking them to co-sponsor House Resolution 1018.  Click here to find your Representative.
