Information from the Department of Human Services and Department of Aging on November 16:
“Dear Colleagues:
Throughout the course of the last few months, we have heard from thousands of you about the commonwealth’s transition to Community HealthChoices (CHC), part of Governor Wolf’s plan to increase opportunities for older Pennsylvanians and individuals with physical disabilities to remain in their homes.
These conversations have had several recurring themes about what Pennsylvanians want out of managed long-term services and supports: Pennsylvanians want a choice in their care, to live in the community, and to have a voice in the process. We want to assure you – your voice is being heard.
Our staff has been hard at work drafting the Request for Proposal (RFP) to procure CHC and the program requirements that will be part of the agreement with the managed care organizations, and today we are happy to share that the draft RFP and program requirements are available for public comment.
We believe that the draft RFP and program requirements preserve individual choice and allows Pennsylvanians to live where they want – in the community. The public comment period is part of our commitment to openness and transparency, and gives a voice to those impacted by changes that will certainly improve the lives of hundreds of thousands of people.
The draft RFP, program requirements, and a summary document are available at www.dhs.pa.gov/citizens/communityhealthchoices. Please take time to review the documents and email your comments to RA-MLTSS@pa.gov (include “Community HealthChoices” in the subject line). In order to ensure your valuable input is received, please submit your comments by December 11, 2015.
Sincerely,
Ted Dallas
Secretary
Department of Human Services
Teresa Osborne
Secretary
Department of Aging”
