DRP Advocates for Accessible Ballot Dropbox
DRP successfully advocated for the opening of an accessible entrance to a ballot dropbox location in Philadelphia after a voter with physical disabilities encountered a locked entrance door at the top of an accessible ramp. A companion of the voter opened the accessible entrance after entering the building through another door. Poll workers refused the voter’s request to leave the door at the accessible entrance unlocked. After DRP advocated with the County Board of Elections, the door was unlocked and remained unlocked so that people with mobility disabilities could return their ballots.
