DRP Persuades Nail Salon to Comply With ADA Obligations
DRP contacted a nail salon on behalf of a client with cerebral palsy. Although the client was a long-time customer of the salon, the client contacted DRP after being told that the salon would not continue to serve her because her disability causes her hand to shake involuntarily and, as a result, it took salon staff too long to provide services to her. After DRP explained that Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act prohibits disability-based discrimination, including refusing to serve a person with disabilities and imposing a higher fee for services, the salon’s owner agreed to comply with the ADA and to continue to provide services to our client.
